With quality at its core, Coyle Custom Homes creates homes fit for generations
Built on integrity, quality, and determination, Coyle Custom Homes brings luxury residences to neighborhoods across Northeastern Oklahoma. Company President and founder, Nathan Coyle, began building the business during his college days. A dedicated worker from day one, Nathan gained experience by working in a local building supply store, before striking out on his own.
“While attending college at Oklahoma State University, I obtained a job at a local building supply company called Hometown Building Supply. The shop was in Sperry, Oklahoma, and I worked directly for the owner, Buel Anglen,” Nathan begins.
“For my first year with the company, I was nothing more than a lumber puller and a delivery driver. As time went by, my roles increased. I soon started managing lumber take offs and pricing for new home builds with numerous different builders. In my last couple of years of college, Buel entrusted me to manage the store while he and his family would take off on the weekends.”
With the support of his parents, Nathan went on to spend his early adulthood establishing Coyle Custom Homes from the ground up. He continues: “After graduating from Oklahoma State, I obtained a corporate job in Oklahoma City and bought my first ‘Project Home’ in Mustang.
“It was a total of 950 square feet, and needed a lot of renovations, which I tackled on nights and weekends. My dad, Jim Coyle, would drive two hours each way to help me with the tile work and various other things. Together, we made the home look like new again.
“I lived there for two years and then sold the home, using the profits to pay in cash for a plot of land. In 2004, at the age of 26, I began my first home build. It consisted of a 1707-square-foot, full brick home. Again, my mom and dad would make the drive and help whenever they could.
“Being on a tight budget, we did most of the work ourselves, from laying tile and hanging cabinets to painting and cleaning up. It really was a team effort, and I’m so grateful for their support. From there, Coyle Custom Homes was born. We’ve worked on dozens of properties across the area since then and continue to deliver nothing but the best.”

As a custom homebuilder, Coyle Custom Homes delivers on a wide range of projects. The company has completed everything from commercial construction to rural log cabins, as Nathan details: “We’ve experimented with various styles of construction. Specializing in bespoke designs means every project is a little bit different; sometimes we’re making something modern, other times the client is looking for a distinct historical style.
“It’s all about bringing the client’s unique vision to life and constructing a space that they are truly happy to come home to. We’re also very focused on quality; it’s our mission to provide our clients with a home that will last generations.”
Expanding expertise
While each project holds a unique place in Coyle Custom Homes’ lineage, one that stands out to Nathan is an Antebellum-style property located in Skiatook, Oklahoma. A recreation of an 1850s home in Natchez, Mississippi, this property is complete with wrap-around porches and over 16,000 square feet of space.
The grandiose design was an exciting challenge for Nathan and his team, as he details: “The end product had 23 columns that were each 24 feet high and three feet in diameter. The inside featured a free-floating radius staircase with period correct newel posts. These were custom built on a wood lathe by some of our expert carpenters.
“We like to maintain relationships with our clients, even once the project is complete. In this instance, the homeowners went to the extent of purchasing all period correct furniture for the home as well. It’s a really unbelievable feeling to step inside now, it’s like you’ve just walked back in time to the 1850s.”
From historical architecture to community-driven design, the company’s latest project is a 55-and-up residential complex, which will be located in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Known as Silver Oaks, this property will comprise 23 individual units, interconnected by communal and outdoor spaces. Not only will the building itself be a new venture for Coyle Custom Homes, but the project marks the company’s first foray into infrastructure planning and construction.

“This project differs from the work we usually undertake,” Nathan shares, “because we are also constructing the surrounding infrastructure. This means building roads, storm drains, water retention ponds, and waterlines from the top. I’m really excited about this project and look forward to similar undertakings in the future.”
By continually expanding their expertise and diversifying the company’s portfolio, Nathan and his team are positioning themselves for long-term success. In the coming years, Coyle Custom Homes is set to expand its custom home branch, while also developing new property types.
“We want to continue trying new things and working for the betterment of the surrounding communities and businesses,” he concludes. “We strive to create properties that allow all parties to prosper. Moving forward, that’s going to remain our focus.”
