With a focus on sustainability and innovation, Landsea Homes crafts high-performance communities in Colorado designed for contemporary living
Bringing best-in-class homes to in-demand markets across the US, Landsea Homes combines utility, style, and sustainability. Since being founded in 2013, the company has seen significant expansion, and several major industry awards. As Lisa Wiebelhaus, President of the company’s Colorado division, begins: “Landsea Homes is a publicly traded homebuilder based in Dallas, Texas. We’re all about creating exceptional living experiences in some of the nation’s most desirable markets, including Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Northern and Southern California, and Texas. We design and build everything from single family detached homes to three story townhomes and entire master planned communities.
“Our CEO, John Ho, founded Landsea Homes in 2013. It was the first company he ever started, and he built a team of people, from employees to partners, who were as committed and eager as he was to fulfil Landsea Homes’ initial vision. Together, we’re driven to become one of the nation’s leading homebuilders.
“In 2021, nine years after Landsea Homes was founded, the company went public and closed its first day on Wall Street worth roughly $450 million. More recently, Colorado became the seventh homebuilding market for Landsea Homes, after we acquired a Colorado-based homebuilder last October.
“What sets us apart is our focus on innovation and sustainability. We’re proud to have been named Green Home Builder Magazine’s 2023 Builder of the Year, and we’re known for our High Performance Homes that combine energy efficiency with the latest in smart home technology. It’s all about helping our buyers live in their element, by creating homes that not only look great but also make life easier, healthier, and more comfortable.
“At Landsea Homes, we believe a home is so much more than just a place to live. It’s where life happens, and we strive to build homes and communities that truly make a positive impact on people’s lives. Our team combines years of experience with a deep understanding of the markets we serve, ensuring that every home we build reflects the needs of today’s buyers,” she continues.
A diverse portfolio packed full of architectural innovations lays the foundation for Landsea Homes’ success. “We’re focused on creating thoughtfully designed communities that cater to the diverse needs of Colorado homebuyers. Our projects range from large single-family detached homes to paired townhomes, all with an emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability.
“My role as Division President is to oversee the planning and development of these projects, ensuring we deliver homes that meet the needs and expectations of our buyers while continuing to position Landsea Homes as one of Colorado’s leading homebuilders,” Lisa details.
With years of experience in the Colorado real estate market, Lisa brings confidence and expertise to Landsea Homes’ newest division: “I spent over seven years focused on creating communities that truly resonated with Colorado homebuyers. That experience gave me a deep understanding of the local market and the importance of building homes that align with Colorado’s lifestyle.
“Leading the Landsea Homes Colorado division has been an exciting next chapter. With our innovative approach and High Performance Homes, we’re bringing something fresh and valuable to this market. I’ve been able to combine my local expertise with the company’s vision, to grow our presence and continue offering exceptional houses to those who call Colorado home,” she affirms.
To support Lisa in her mission, Landsea Homes has invested in an all-new headquarters. The facility is equipped with the latest tools and technology, as Lisa details: “Our new Colorado HQ in Westminster is a big step forward for us. It’s designed to support our growth and enhance the homebuying experience with the addition of our brand-new design studio. The facility will accommodate up to 60 employees, which gives us plenty of room to expand. We recently started renovations and expect to move in March 2025.
“I’m especially excited about the in-house design studio and showroom. It’s going to be a game-changer for our homebuyers. The design studio has a full kitchen and living room setup, so homebuyers can visualize what they want their new home to look like. They even have the option to work one-on-one with our interior designers to select everything from cabinetry and countertops to flooring and fixtures.
“It’s a highly personalized process that ensures their home design reflects their personal style and taste. This new space also reflects our commitment to innovation and providing exceptional customer service.”
In addition to its second-to-none service, Landsea Homes prioritizes sustainable practice. Having referred to the importance of the High Performance Homes, Lisa goes onto elaborate: “Sustainability is at the heart of our High Performance Homes. This starts with energy efficiency, which is achieved through ENERGY STAR® rated appliances, upgraded roof insulation, and advanced mechanical systems. These elements reduce energy consumption, leading to lower utility bills and a smaller carbon footprint. By choosing one of our High Performance Homes, homeowners aren’t just making an investment in their future – they’re contributing to a more sustainable future for their families, communities, and the planet.”
With sustainability at its center, Landsea Homes is fit for the future. “Over the next few years, we will continue expanding our footprint across the state, bringing thoughtfully designed communities to those seeking homes that blend sustainability, smart technology, and modern comfort. I look forward to deepening our relationships with customers, employees, and partners – because our success is rooted in these valuable connections,” Lisa concludes.
