Two Structures Homes builds energy-efficient, customizable Oklahoma homes designed for comfort, connection, and joy
Two Structures Homes believes a home is where life truly happens. It’s where families gather, milestones are celebrated, and everyday moments become lifelong memories. That’s why the team designs and builds new homes in Edmond, Mustang, Yukon, Deer Creek, and across the Oklahoma City metro that bring comfort, connection, and peace of mind. As a locally owned and family-operated Oklahoma home builder, Two Structures is deeply connected to the neighborhoods where it builds and to the families it serves.

The company was started with a dream: to create houses that feel like home the moment you walk in. Homes that bring families together, offer comfort and security, and reflect the joy of everyday living. The name Two Structures comes from the foundation and the frame: the strength beneath the beauty. When those are built right, everything else falls into place.
Purpose and commitment
Whether clients are looking for a home in one of Two Structures’ neighborhoods or want to build on their own land in Oklahoma, the company’s mission is to create spaces that will be loved for years to come. From open kitchens that invite conversation and living rooms filled with natural light to porches made for sunsets, every detail is designed to make life easier and warmer.
“I originally started out flipping houses back in the mid-2000s, but over time that became a pretty tough business,” begins Jay Evans, owner. “There were just so many people doing it that it got harder to buy properties at the right price. So, I began transitioning into something a bit different. If I saw a vacant lot, for example, we’d come in and build on it. We called that ‘scattered lot’ building.
“I did that for a couple of years, and then gradually moved into developing within neighborhoods and doing this full time. Eventually, I made the transition into home building and have been doing this full time since about 2009. Today, our main differentiator has really become building energy-efficient homes.”
Indeed, every home built by Two Structures is HERS® rated and designed with energy efficiency in mind, providing both comfort and lower utility bills. The team specializes in high-performance homes built with better materials, transparent pricing, and a proven process.
“We’re also starting to diversify into doing more customization and less speculative building,” Jay continues, “and focusing more on building on other people’s land. More recently, we’ve moved into affordable housing, really out of necessity here in Oklahoma. Around 2022 and 2023, interest rates rose quite a bit, and that affected our position in the market. Over time, we’d shifted from being an entry-level builder into more of a move-up builder, largely because of increasing costs. But as that move-up market softened, I started looking into affordable housing as a way to get back into that entry-level price point.
“We’ve since done some duplex projects in that space. One of the interesting aspects of affordable housing is that you can access interest-free funding from the government, but it does come with certain requirements and constraints. That said, it aligned well with what we were already doing. There’s a points-based system, and it heavily favors energy-efficient construction, which has been a core focus for us anyway.
“We’re not really trying to move into that $1 million-plus, ultra high-end market,” he explains. “What we’re focused on instead is the move-up buyer; the person building more of a forever home, but typically still under that price point. The strategy is about taking what we’ve learned as a speculative and neighborhood builder and applying it in a more custom setting. In the past, buyers would choose one of our plans and we’d modify it for them. Now, we’re bringing that same process to build-on-your-lot projects, so clients can build where they want while still benefiting from a structured, semi-custom approach.”
Two Structures has developed a resilient and values-driven culture, shaped by both growth and challenge. When the market slowed significantly in 2022, the company faced difficult decisions, including downsizing. While that period tested the team, it ultimately strengthened the organization. As Jay reflects: “Going through that rough period reinforces that the people still here genuinely care about what we’re trying to build.” Today, there is a stronger sense of shared purpose and commitment among the team.
That experience has also refined the company’s approach to hiring and development. Cultural fit is now prioritized just as highly as technical skill. “It’s easier to train somebody to do a job than it is to teach them how to be a team player or have a work ethic,” Jay explains. With an emphasis on collaboration, transparency, and long-term growth, Two Structures continues to build a team aligned not just in capability, but in mindset and values.

Two Structures offers a more intentional, well-managed residential construction experience. Building a custom home should feel informed and purposeful, not confusing or unpredictable. As such, the team’s role is to guide homeowners through the process with clarity, transparency, and experience.
“We use Buildertrend as our main platform,” Jay shares, “along with on-site cameras to help us keep an eye on progress. On some of our builds, we’ll have cameras set up at the front and back, which lets us monitor day-to-day activity. That said, communication is a big focus for us. We keep all plans and documentation in Buildertrend, and we encourage everyone to follow that process. It’s about creating clarity and accountability.”
Future expansions
Looking to the future, Jay highlights that he is expecting the business to grow by about 20 percent year over year. “A big focus for us right now,” he elaborates, “is hitting those sales goals and strengthening our approach. We’ve recently started working with a sales trainer, and that’s been valuable. He’s introducing a different sales model compared to what we were doing before, and it’s brought a fresh perspective.
“Further afield, we typically plan on a three-year horizon because it’s tough to forecast much further in this industry. Right now, we’re on track for around $12 million in revenue, and we’d like to grow that to about $18 million over the next three years. To get there, we’ll need to expand the team. One of our next key hires will likely be an in-house interior designer. We currently outsource some of that work but bringing it in-house will help streamline the preconstruction process, support our sales team, and create a smoother experience for homeowners as they move through selections and into the build phase,” he concludes.
With a commitment to energy efficiency, customization, and transparency, the team continues to refine its processes, support homeowners, and strengthen its culture. By combining expertise, thoughtful design, and a values-driven approach, Two Structures is not just building houses; it’s creating homes where families can thrive.
