Synergy Homes transforms homeowners’ ideas into distinctive luxury residences tailored to modern living
We opened Synergy Homes in 2021,” begins Steve Wamser, Owner. “Prior to that, I’d worked for another building company, and after several years there, I decided to start my own business. A couple of people from my previous firm ended up joining me, and together we set out to create a different kind of building company.

“We didn’t want to be a boutique builder, but rather a custom home builder that’s flexible and responsive to our clients’ needs. We’re nimble when it comes to changes, and we deliberately don’t build huge volumes of homes each year. Typically, we’ll build around eight-to-ten homes annually.
“Our focus is on homeowners who want to customize their homes and put their own stamp on them. Rather than choosing from a standard model, we start with the client’s vision and work from there to create something unique. Often, clients come to us with ideas for exterior elevations or design features they like, and we’ll design a home that brings those ideas together in a way that suits their needs and lifestyle.”
As a result of this approach, Synergy Homes specializes in the construction of luxury single-family custom homes, with a focus on delivering high-quality, tailored living spaces. While custom home building remains the company’s core offering, the team also undertakes select large-scale renovation projects.
In that area, its portfolio includes extensive home remodels, basement transformations, and complex additions, such as the creation of bespoke indoor pool rooms seamlessly integrated into existing properties. Both exceptional new builds and substantial renovation projects are delivered through the business’ combination of craftsmanship, flexibility and attention to detail.
“We receive a significant amount of our business through word-of-mouth recommendations and referrals,” Steve continues. “When clients are investing millions of dollars into their homes, delivering an exceptional experience is essential. Often, they’ll host family and friends in their new homes, and those connections frequently become future clients themselves.
“Despite only being in business for five years, we’ve already completed projects for multiple generations within the same families. Those kinds of repeat referrals are something of which we’re very proud, and they reflect the trust we’ve built within our community.
“Our team also brings a wealth of experience to every project. Most of our team members have been in the building industry for more than a decade, with one member having over 30 years of experience. That collective expertise has helped us establish a strong reputation in our market, and it’s a reputation we’ve worked hard to earn.”
Prior to establishing Synergy Homes, Steve worked in the flooring, cabinetry and countertops industry for more than a decade, managing retail stores and helping homeowners select products for their projects.
“In 2013, when it came time to build my own home,” he shares, “I was able to supply many of those products myself. That experience sparked something unexpected. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the building process and quickly realized it was something we wanted to do again in the future. We became fascinated by the journey of creating a home from the ground up and seeing a vision come to life.
“When I first started in the industry more than a decade ago, the homes we were building tended to be simpler and more entry-level,” he elaborates. “Over time, however, both the market and our expertise evolved, and today we’re focused on creating highly customized luxury homes with unique, high-end features.”

Elevated design expertise
A big part of that growth has been the addition of the business’ architect partner, Jeffree Nelson, to the team. Jeff has been designing luxury homes for more than 30 years and is well known throughout the region. His experience and vision have helped elevate the level of design and innovation Synergy Homes is able to offer its clients. Rounding out its executive leadership team is Dave Stanislawski, Director of New Construction, and Vickie Rock, General Manager.
“Today’s homeowners are looking for far more than traditional living spaces. A couple of years ago, we even completed an underground shooting range. The clients who seek us out are often looking for something distinctive, and we enjoy finding creative ways to bring those ideas to life.
“These projects require a completely different approach than selecting a standard home plan. Whether it’s incorporating a specialized recreation space or integrating complex structural elements, we’re constantly solving new challenges and creating homes that are tailored to the way our clients want to live.
“We’re also seeing a growing emphasis on wellness-focused design. Home fitness spaces are no longer simply rooms with exercise equipment. Many now include saunas, steam showers and cold-plunge or ice-bath facilities, creating private wellness retreats within the home.”
One of the most exciting projects the team is currently working on is a great example of this luxury personalization. As a 12,000-square-foot custom home designed for multi-generational living, it features two primary suites on the main floor and six bedrooms, each with its own ensuite. “The home embraces a striking dark contemporary aesthetic,” Steve explains, “but what truly sets it apart is its resort-style amenities. The basement is designed as an entertainer’s dream, complete with an indoor half-court basketball court, a golf simulator overlooking a large bar area, and a dedicated wellness suite featuring a sauna, ice bath, steam shower, and expansive fitness center. The property will also include an outdoor pool, creating a private retreat that feels more like a luxury resort than a residence.”
The company is also beginning work on another remarkable custom home this summer; a French country estate situated on 50 acres. Along with an indoor pool and wellness area, the project incorporates a geothermal heating system, which uses the earth’s natural temperature to efficiently heat and cool the home. The design blends stucco, stone, and brick to create a timeless architectural style while integrating modern sustainability features.
“In addition, we’ve recently completed several large Mediterranean-style homes, all designed with multi-generational living in mind,” Steve adds. “Many include features such as sculleries, which are secondary kitchens and ideal for entertaining, allowing caterers to prepare and stage food discreetly while gatherings continue uninterrupted. These homes reflect a growing demand for spaces that support both family connection and elevated everyday living.”
Continuous refinement
Looking to the future, Steve shares his hopes for the coming years. “Our focus is always twofold. First, we must deliver exceptional results for the clients whose homes are nearing completion, but we’re also constantly looking ahead to 2027 and 2028. While we already have a strong pipeline of projects, success in custom home building requires planning years in advance. A key part of that is understanding where future development opportunities will emerge, particularly in a market where quality land is increasingly scarce.
“Our goal isn’t to become a high-volume builder. We’d rather remain focused on quality than scale for the sake of growth. Ideally, we’d like to consistently build around 12 to 13 high-end custom homes annually. That level of growth would allow us to further refine our processes, expand our team with a few additional specialists, and continue improving the client’s experience.
“Custom home construction is highly collaborative, and homeowners often make changes throughout the build process. Being able to adapt efficiently is one of our strengths, but there’s always room to improve,” he concludes. “With a slightly larger team and a steady increase in volume, we believe we can become even more responsive while maintaining the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and personalized service that define our work.”
