Patrick initially hired local architects and builders to manage Seaward Development projects but soon sought a more efficient approach – one with streamlined processes, improved schedule management, professionalism, cost control, and quality assurance. As a result, four years ago, Patrick joined forces with Matthew Leake, President, and Karl Weber, Director of Homebuilding – two ardent industry professionals with decades of experience in large, complex residential and commercial construction projects. Armed with their collective experience and expertise, Patrick, Matthew, and Karl took Seaward Homes to new heights, refreshing its internal processes to drive greater operational efficiency and client-centric excellence. “Our project management system is Procore, an industry-leading software in commercial and large project construction. Additionally, we employ 3D visualization programs that allow clients to see what their space will look and feel like as they make their selections,” Matthew continues. “For quality assurance and documentation, we use 3D, 360-degree photography taken at various stages of construction. This technology enables us to pan around any room to show the client what is happening at that stage, which is particularly useful for coordinating efforts or addressing any future issues, as it makes it easier to identify and resolve concerns. By leveraging tools typically used in larger, more complex commercial projects, we are bringing the same level of sophistication and precision to homeowners. 
“To enhance our scheduling, we utilize a cloud-based scheduling program. This tool is used daily on the jobsite and integrated into our internal team meetings, where we constantly update the schedule and bring everyone together to discuss project progress, share lessons learned, highlight ongoing activities, and identify any safety challenges that might be at the forefront of the current scope of work,” Karl adds, elaborating further on the power of technology in enhancing Seaward Homes’ process. “By meeting regularly with all team members and visiting various construction sites as a team, we gain insights from different projects and learn from what other trades are doing, allowing us to continuously improve. I believe that leveraging software in conjunction with our collaborative intent is just a natural part of our process, it is simply who we are as a company. This commitment to collaboration fosters a team mindset and fun environment for growth.”
