Leading custom contractor, G. J. Gardner Homes, brings joy back to the homebuilding experience

Since 1983, G. J. Gardner has designed and built over 36,000 dream homes. Known across Australia, America, and New Zealand, the company continues to establish itself as an international force in the homebuilding market. Each branch of the business reflects the dedication and quality that G. J. Gardner is known for, as Owner of the Denver office, Vince Coviello, reveals: “With over 125 offices operating worldwide, G.J. Gardner Homes has built a reputation for reliability, and for being a company our customers can trust. I’ve spent the last 25-plus years in development and homebuilding in Colorado, and G.J. Gardner Homes, Denver opened its doors in 2012. Since that time, we have consistently built 15-to-20 custom homes per year in and around the Denver Metro area.”

While operating within a broader brand identity, this specific branch of G. J. Gardner is also uniquely inspired by its local surroundings, especially the city of Denver. As Vince enthuses: “I have been around Denver a long time, and during that period I’ve seen the area grow and evolve in lots of interesting ways. It’s been an amazing time to live and work here. Denver is a city that is growing for the right reasons, people just love living here. The lifestyle on offer is unlike anything else. It does make the market challenging from a buyer perspective, because a lot of people want to be here, but there are a lot of great options, including building new.”

Building the best Top of the Highlands at 3362 W 32nd Ave

Bespoke buildings are the bread and butter of G. J. Gardner’s portfolio, as Vince discusses: “One hundred percent of our work is building high-end custom homes for clients, but that does include a wide range of potential projects, from ADU’s which have recently become very popular on the smaller end of the spectrum, to very high-end custom homes in the $3million-plus and up price range – and pretty much everything in between. However, we are not ‘semi-custom’ builders, in that no two houses we build are the same.

“For instance, we just finished a luxury single family home at 3362 W. 32nd Avenue in Denver’s Highlands neighborhood that is available for sale now. The house is located on a vibrant street with a lot of local activity, a very cool location in the heart of a special area. It features approximately 4000 finished square feet and includes a large rooftop deck with 360-degree views.”

The design and build process is something of a family affair, as Vince details: “Our intention was always to build not only a ‘dream home,’ but a house that showcased many of the features we incorporate into our projects. My wife, Kelly Coviello, is also our Design Coordinator. She works closely with our clients on all elements of the design selection process and has an amazing eye for detail. We really wanted a house that was very ‘cozy’, and we both wanted a place that took full advantage of the great location. She was a huge asset in helping bring that vision to life.

“The house is located close to 32nd Street and Tennyson Street areas of the Highlands in Denver. It’s a truly fantastic neighborhood, so it was hard to go wrong, but there were a few crucial elements we knew needed to be perfect. Number one; an amazing kitchen and primary bedroom, number two; several great spaces in the home, suitable for spending quality time alone or together, and finally, number three; some memorable ‘wow’ spaces for dining and entertaining.”

Custom homebuilding is like no other kind of construction. Client relationships are central to producing a product that exceeds expectations, as Vince affirms: “We focus on delivering the very best combination of quality, price, and time. We are fighting every day for our clients to achieve the best result, and I think people see that in us and in our finished homes. What’s more, we separate ourselves from the competition because we really care about doing right by our clients and making their dreams reality. We don’t build every house in the neighborhood, but we do build the best.”

With 2024 well underway, Vince and his team are looking toward the future. Ruminating on what’s next for the business, Vince concludes: “We are very busy and continue to see new projects coming to us all the time. The neighborhoods in Denver present some tremendous opportunities for homes over the next five to ten years, so we’re looking forward to being around for a long, long time. At the end of the day, we love what we do, so I’d like to see us doing the same thing in the long-term. Further down the line, I hope to see G. J. Gardner thriving, with more happy clients living comfortably in houses we have built. It’s a very fulfilling business.”
