How Paskoski Construction’s core values have ensured 45 years of success

Paskoski Construction is a general contractor specializing in new build high-end luxury homes as well as bespoke renovations. Owner and President Kevin Brooks outlines the company’s history: “The company was started in 1980 by my former business partner Steve Paskoski. In 2007, I became a partner in the business and in 2021 I became the sole owner. While specializing in custom home building, we’ve also completed several one-of-a-kind commercial projects in the form of law offices, medical buildings and restaurants.”

With Paskoski Construction’s 45th anniversary approaching next year, Kevin reflects on the factors that have contributed to that longevity: “It definitely started with Steve Paskoski, he brought honesty and integrity into the business when he founded it. The company still abides by these core values. After graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999, I started in the company as a carpenter’s assistant, eventually working my way up to supervisor, project manager, and then partner. Throughout that time, Steve instilled the philosophy of building a home as if it was your own. This includes finding the best quality materials, the best quality craftsmanship throughout the house but also looking after the finances as if you were spending your own money. We pride ourselves on putting the customer first and doing what’s right for them throughout the entire home building process.”

The highest standards

It’s a testament to this approach that over the years, most of Paskoski Construction’s work has come from word of mouth. Its former clients are its best form of advertising. Kevin says: “Good recommendations go a long way. It’s a leap of faith when you hire a builder, people are more comfortable building with us because of our history of quality and solid reputation of honesty.”

This dedication to quality has been repeatedly recognized over the years with Paskoski Construction winning over 28 craftsmanship awards in the last decade. Kevin outlines the key to maintaining such high standards: “We’ve been very fortunate to have exceptional finish carpentry crews working in the company over the years. We also use the best possible subcontractors, whether plumbers, electricians, or drywall contractors, some of which we have been working with for over 30 years.  When you have the best talent working on a job, it is reflected in the final product.”

Paskoski Construction not only boasts longevity in subcontractor relationships, but also commonly builds multiple homes for clients.  “We built a home for clients in Boca Raton, Florida, who then went on to build a second home with us, their dream house in their hometown.” The second home, a 10,000 square-foot house built on a twelve-acre oceanside plot was constructed in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. “We were fortunate to be chosen for this project. It’s a mid-century modern design built into an elevated sand dune and includes some unique features such as extensive use of wood and concrete, reflecting pools surrounding the home and large glass windows taking in the ocean views,” said Kevin.

Prestigious projects

Paskoski Construction is no stranger to large custom homes and unique projects. “The company recently completed construction on a 10,000 square-foot addition to an existing 10,000 square-foot home in Fort Lauderdale. The homeowner wanted to expand the size of his home to accommodate the parking of his yacht, as well as a large entertainment area. The indoor space features a 5,000 gallon salt water tank with living coral along with a two story indoor water fall. The outdoor space centers around an island encircled by a decorative water feature. A sunken conversation area and cantilevered pergola for live entertainment add to the energetic atmosphere.”

Another example of a quality custom project was a 17,000 square-foot home on five acres, minutes from downtown Miami. Kevin elaborates: “We collaborated with an architect from New York, and a designer from Aspen. It was the primary residence of a client who has homes all over the world and we were honored to be selected to build their Miami home. Teamwork and communication are key to the success of a project. Although geographically we were spread out, weekly meetings and great communication throughout the build led this project to be one I am very proud of.”

New challenge

Looking forward, the business will have a busy end to the year finishing projects in time for the holidays. Kevin highlights the company’s plans for 2025: “There are several exciting projects that will begin in the new year. We have a large home in Fort Lauderdale that we’ll be starting once the plans are finalized. We also have a large remodel addition in Boca that’ll start at the beginning of the year which will double the size of the current house. We have a high-end doctor’s office that will be built in Fort Lauderdale. This is a unique project because it’s not only a doctor’s office, but also a research and development suite for the doctor’s work in robotic surgeries. It will be a really unique and fun challenge for us,” he concludes, “and is different to anything we have done before.”

With a hands-on approach that focuses on being the best possible builder of bespoke luxury homes, Paskoski Construction has garnered a name and reputation that matches the timeless quality of all the projects it has completed.
