From Mike Riddle Construction to Riddle Construction: Building a brand around people, process, and place
For Mike Riddle, the decision to rebrand wasn’t about changing who the company was – it was about finally naming what it had become.
After more than two decades in the construction industry, and over a decade leading Mike Riddle Construction, the evolution to Riddle Construction marks a defining moment for the company. The shortened name reflects something deeper than aesthetics or marketing: it represents a business built on strong systems, an exceptional team, and a client experience that goes far beyond the jobsite.
“This wasn’t about putting my name on fewer things,” Mike Riddle, Founder and Owner explains. “It was about recognizing that what we deliver today is the result of an entire team operating at a very high level – not one person.”

This change has also enabled Riddle to take a big picture view of the business, and home in on refining processes, strengthening team culture and ensuring consistency across all parts of the business. “I can track metrics at a more granular level to extract more value and gain efficiency and profitability,” he adds.
A team-driven model for luxury homes
Riddle Construction specializes in luxury custom homes and large-scale remodels throughout Oregon’s Willamette Valley wine country and along the Oregon Coast. While the homes themselves are visually striking, Riddle believes the real differentiator is what clients don’t always see.
“We’ve invested heavily in people and process,” he says. “From pre-construction planning and budgeting, to weekly communication and post-project follow-through, everything we do is designed to remove uncertainty for the client.”
That approach has allowed Riddle Construction to scale without sacrificing quality or service. The company operates with clearly defined roles across project management, site supervision, administration, and leadership – ensuring clients always know who to contact and what to expect.
“Our goal is consistency,” Riddle adds. “Luxury isn’t just finishes – it’s clarity, responsiveness, and trust.”
Expanding to the Oregon Coast
That consistency has fueled Riddle Construction’s expansion beyond the Willamette Valley and into the North Oregon Coast. What began as a handful of coastal projects has grown into a significant service area for the company.
“Coastal construction is a different animal,” Riddle says. “Wind, moisture, salt air; you have to understand the environment, the materials, and the long-term performance of the home.”
One of the firm’s most notable recent projects is a 10,000-square-foot Nantucket-style oceanfront home, designed by Capri Architecture. Set on acreage overlooking the Pacific, the home was thoughtfully designed to host multiple generations while standing up to the demands of the coastal climate.
Describing the home as ‘the highlight of his career’, Riddle says the project was the most intricate the business has completed. Representing a successful combination of both rustic and modern, the bespoke interiors had to accommodate specific client requirements and distinct furnishings. “That project really embodies what we do,” Riddle notes. “It’s timeless architecture, carefully executed, with a team that understands both the emotional and technical sides of building a family legacy home.”
Introducing Mantel & Manor: Concierge home care

As Riddle Construction continued building higher-end homes, one recurring theme emerged: clients wanted help after construction was complete.
That insight led to the launch of Mantel & Manor, a concierge home maintenance and lifestyle company designed to keep luxury homes performing at their best long after move-in.
Mantel & Manor is built around three core pillars:
- Proactive Maintenance– Regular inspections, seasonal maintenance, and performance checks to prevent small issues from becoming costly problems
- Trusted Vendor Management– Access to vetted trades and professionals who understand the home, its systems, and the owner’s expectations
- Peace of Mind– A single point of contact that allows homeowners to enjoy their property without the stress of managing it
“Our clients invest a lot into their homes,” Riddle says. “Mantel & Manor protects that investment. In addition, time is often one of the most precious assets our clients have. This service gives them back their time by offering a trusted and reliable resource that takes care of the tasks required to keep their home in perfect condition.”
A brand that reflects the future
The transition to Riddle Construction is more than a name change – it’s a reflection of a company that has matured into a systems-driven, team-led organization with a clear vision for the future.
“We understand that our clients have different priorities – whether that is time, value or cost for example. We ensure that we understand what is important to them, and we balance all the elements to manage a project based on their needs. We are partners that our clients trust. We take their vision, their pocketbook, sometimes their treasures – and we put them all together to create the home of their dreams.”
As Riddle concludes: “The homes will keep getting better, the projects will keep getting bigger, but what matters most is how people feel working with us. That’s what this brand stands for.”
