Fourth-generation homebuilder Moceri Companies blends innovation and expertise with a community-first approach in Southeast Michigan

Representing the fourth generation of family legacy, partner Dominic F. Moceri first recognized his passion for building during his college internship with the business. He sits down with Modern Home Builders to tell us more about his role in the business and the exclusive projects presently on the agenda for Moceri Companies. “I’ve always known that I wanted to be a part of the family business,” he begins. “I think the most satisfying part about being a homebuilder is watching those ideas that start as a cloud bubble in your head, take shape and come into fruition as a finished home. I enjoy all the strategy that goes into getting builds approved, working with the trades and the clients and ultimately constructing the homes. It’s incredibly rewarding.”
Describing its competitive edge, Dominic highlights Moceri Companies’ three main areas of excellence – structure, integrity and tradition. “Not only do we deliver award-winning architecture, but we’re also fourth generation builders and we go by the book; we’re not controversial in what we do,” he says. “We work closely with communities and provide what’s best for the neighborhood, while considering the housing needs for that market.”
Distinct communities
As the most awarded builder in Michigan, the group’s impact on residential real estate has been deservedly recognized. “Achieving multiple awards is a great testament to the work we’ve completed in underutilized areas, where we’ve really made a statement of them,” continues Dominic. “Our in-house architect, Dominick Trigali, is tremendously talented – he was trained in Florence and has won numerous awards. He’s been with Moceri Companies for 30 years and we’re fortunate to work with him.”
Current projects include the 604-unit Clinton Township project, Montclair at Partridge Creek, which is in the final phase and has five different housing varieties and due to be fully completed at the end of 2027. Dominic reveals exciting updates on another significant project – three distinct communities on Lake Orion. “Mystic Cove is on the south side of the lake, and that consists of 36 high-end residences for lease which all come equipped with a boat slip,” elaborates Dominic. “In the middle is Constellation Bay, which should be 52 residences for lease, and on the east side of the lake is Starboard and Peninsula. Starboard will have 11 ultra-high-end town homes, beginning development in 2028, and Peninsula is currently under construction with three high-end single-family homes, starting at $2,700,000. Personally, this Lake Orion project is my favorite so far. It was quite a blighted community, and the properties we bought were rundown houses and motels. Reimagining that entire area of Lake Orion is a very significant investment, so the village is experiencing a great deal of progression.”
Artemis Villa, referred to on the Moceri Companies website as ‘a picturesque and serene community where beauty and tranquility come together’ is also under construction and incorporates up to 38 detached condominiums for sale. Situated in the Northern Oakland Township, house prices range from just over $1,000,000 to $2,000,000, and the community also has a clubhouse with swimming pool and hot tub, alongside a bocce ball court and a firepit. “Artemis Villa has been a long-awaited community in Oakland Township for seven years now,” notes Dominic. “We’re getting the ball rolling and hitting the ground strong! In addition to Artemis, we are starting construction of Lavender Ridge in Orion Township this summer – that has 78 detached single-family condos for sale, with 48 duets attached, in the shape of ranch-style homes, and then a further 35 town homes. Totaling 161 residences, everything in that community will be for sale.”
Building these communities is a priority for Moceri Companies in 2026, Dominic emphasizes: “We are focused on continuing movement in Lake Orion, wrapping up our projects in Clinton Township and continuing to look at other suitable opportunities in Southeast Michigan.
